Description

The birth of TOSCANO® cigars is linked to a chance yet extraordinary event rooted in history and legend. In 1815 in Florence, a summer rain soaked several barrels of tobacco from Kentucky, which were stored in the factory courtyard. Due to the amount of water combined with the weather conditions of the scorching Italian summer, a fermentation process began in the cigars. Since it was not possible to dump all that tobacco into the Arno River, it was decided to produce cigars with a completely new flavor, to be sold to the lower classes of Florence.

It was an instant success. The fermentation process for TOSCANO® cigars was thus discovered 200 years ago. And so the legend of TOSCANO® cigars was born.
